Holy Cross Sunday School Program
The Holy Cross Sunday school program is called
GENESIS.
Genesis is the first book of the Bible, and it is fitting that GENESIS is the name of one’s first Bible study classes.
Classes are held at 9:03 a.m. each Sunday morning for children 5 through 15 . Children under 5 attend Children’s Chapel, and those 16 and older are welcome in the adult classes.
Lessons are Bible-based and designed to coordinate with the church lectionary whenever possible. Additionally, children are taught basics such as the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, and who the Disciples were.
All lessons are given with emphasis on how to relate Biblical principles to everyday living.
Each class has two teachers, and each teacher has completed the Diocesan training on “Safeguarding Our Children”. Crafts and songs are included in the curriculum. Each child has his own box of craft supplies.
Sunday school is available year-round, with summer classes a little more relaxed with an emphasis on outdoor learning activities. All children are welcome to bring friends, and all friends are welcome to become members.
